Tempe

Janice, Casey, Crissi, Taylor and Riley were all there to meet us. Big smiles all round. For the rest of the afternoon we went our separate ways with our host families. I had my first taste of Mexican food and really enjoyed it. That night we meet together to see the Botanical Gardens Luminaries. It was beautiful and very different. As you walk along the pathways amongst the cacti you come across different groups of entertainers. My favorites were the bell ringers and the Apache storytellers.

Arriving in Phoenix

Was so lovely to arrive in Phoenix and be greeted by Janice, Crissi, Taylor and Riley with cold water bottles for us! It was so nice to see familiar, friendly faces with hugs all round. Taylor was keen to know if there were any Jaffas on board. We were able to unload gear we didn't need in Las Vegas. Only problem was I had pulled the luggage ties so tight we couldn't undo them and had to seek the help of two policemen, complete with guns, to help us. It was really funny.

San Francisco

Just about to share our first American burger. They didn't understand us when we asked for water! (Wardder!)
